Connect to your Spirit Guides with Crystals

It is believed by many that everyone has a spirit guide. In fact, you have several to help you on the journey through this life. Some have been with you since you were born, and others join your "team" as you need them.

You are even able to request more guides or assistance from your current spirit guides using only your personal will.

Crystals can help you better connect your spirit guides as well as facilitate stronger communication.

Your Spirit Guides

There are seven different types of spirit guides you can have. You can have one of each or only a few of one type. Your spirit guides make up your personal team and because it is a personal team, it will vary from person to person.

The seven different types of spirit guides are Archangels, Guardian Angels, Ancestors, Nature Spirits, Animal Spirits, Ascended Masters, and Deities.

Finding Out Who Your Spirit Guides Are

Finding out who your spirit guides are is not difficult if you are in touch with yourself and have high intuition. Intuition is your gut feelings, your instinct, and your inner voice. We all have one.

You can even strengthen and develop your intuition if you feel it is not where it should be. By just closing your eyes or meditating on the question of who your spirit guides are, you will likely get a feeling and an instinctual answer.

To put it simply, you will just know. Crystals that heighten your intuition, such as Amethyst and Iolite, can help.

You were likely assigned a Guardian Angel at birth. Other spirit guardians may have been added along the way as you needed them.

The 7 Types of Spirit Guides

As mentioned previously, there are seven types of spirit guides. It is possible you have one of each but without calling to some, it's likely you have a couple less than that. Below, I will give a brief overview of each of the seven Spirit Guide types. You can click through to read more about them and find which crystal works best.

1. Archangels

Archangels are the leaders of the angels. They are very powerful and each archangel has their own area of focus such as for healing or strength.

2. Guardian Angels

Every single person has a Guardian Angel. They have been with you since your birth. They know you best and are considered the leader of your Spirit Guide team.

3. Ancestors

Your ancestors are very much a part of your Spirit Guide team. Some come when you need them and others stay with you.

4. Nature Spirits

Nature spirits are ethereal beings that don't necessarily have a physical form. This could be Gaia (mother nature), fairies, elves, gnomes, or any other spirit associated with nature.

5. Animal Spirits

Animal spirits are animals who have chosen us for one reason or another. This could be to teach us something or it could be a pet we connected with who has since passed on.

6. Ascended Masters

An Ascended Master is the spirit of a person who has lived on this Earth as a human being, usually for many lifetimes. They achieved enlightenment and now offer Higher Guidance.

7. Deities

Deities are the Gods and Goddesses throughout time and history. This type of Spirit Guide does not often stay with you but can be called upon for guidance.

How Your Spirit Guides May Answer

Your spirit guides aren't able to just tell you the answers. They lack the proper ability to do so but that doesn't mean they can't answer in other ways. Most often your spirit guides will communicate with you through signs. I don't mean literal signs, of course, but rather signs from the universe. These "signs" are also called synchronicities.

Synchronicity is defined by Carl Jung, the founder of analytical psychology, as the simultaneous occurrence of events that appear to have a meaningful connection when there is no explicable causal relationship between these events.

An example of synchronicity or a "sign" could be from seeing the same number repeatedly. You might be worried about a job offer and if you should take it. Then, all week leading up to the interview, you happen to notice the number 7 everywhere. When you get to the job interview you notice the address is on 7th Street or the numbers are 77. This could be considered a sign from your Spirit Guides that this is the right path to take.

Your Spirit Guides might also communicate through music, dreams, books, fragrances, and more. Animal spirits are thought to appear to deliver messages and teach you some sort of lesson. For instance, you might see or dream of a sloth. That could mean you need to slow down and take it easy for a while. A lion might mean you need to be strong, brave, and lead those around you. Try to be mindful of yourself and your surroundings in order to take in the signs around you as well as your own feelings. If you're in touch with your inner self and have a high intuition, your spirit guide may also communicate with you through your instinct, emotions, and gut feelings.

Archangels appear in almost every religious text. Almost all religions and even non-religious cultures recognize some sort of archangel. The English word archangel is derived from Greek αΌ€ΟΟ‡Ξ¬Ξ³Ξ³Ξ΅Ξ»ΞΏΟ‚, which translates to chief angel.

They are considered the highest rank of an angel. As such, they are very powerful beings. Archangels are the leaders of all angels. An archangel spirit guide can be called upon for assistance and guidance when the situation is dire.

Archangels appear in most Abrahamic religions (such as Christianity, Islam, and Judaism). There are seven archangels in most religions, including Zoroastrianism, one of the world's oldest continuously practiced religions. Others only recognize three or four.

Though some archangels might be separated by religion, it is widely believed that all spirit guides, of all types and religions, work together as one in the spiritual realm. They learn from each other, help one another, and live in harmony.
